Fender Jagstang Kurt Cobain Signature Fiesta Red MIJ 1996
Here we have a lovely Fender Jagstang in Fiesta red, made in Japan at the legendary Fujigen plant in 1996.
Few people have had the impact on pop culture, youth culture and the world that Kurt Cobain has had, giving a voice to a generation who were made to feel silenced through beautiful melody and huge walls of sound. So when Kurt Cobain had the idea to take elements of his two favourite guitars, his Jaguar and Mustang and fuse them together in order for it to be more ergonomic and comfortable it only make sense that said guitar has now become that of legend too, and the guitar in question was the Jagstang. Combining the body shapes of both guitars and using a short scale length, we have to say this guitar is extremely comfortable to play.
This guitar is loaded with a Fender Texas special single coil in the neck position and an angled powerful Dimarzio H-3 Humbucker in the bridge for extra attitude. This is one very versatile beast too, with traditional slider mustang controls and 7.25" fretboard radius and "D" shape neck profile this guitar has a certain vintage charm to it, even though its born straight out of the 90's.
This guitar has sustained some chips and dings to the body and the pick-guard is beginning to crack in some places, so its fair to say this old gal is showing her age, but come on and cut her some slack, she lived through the grunge era!
So go ahead and grab yourself a guitar as unique and special as the man who thought it up, and you shan't be disappointed with your new best friend in fiesta red.
